Letter from our General Director
July 24, 2020
Greetings!
All of us at the Dunedin Music Society (DMS) hope you remain healthy, cautious, caring and optimistic during this COVID-19 pandemic.
As you know, we have cancelled a multitude of events this year but have remained busy serving local, state, national and international musicians and champions online and planning performances for when we have a safe environment.
However, our “Strategy 2019” got knocked off course, and we are challenging our supporters to help us catch-up and continue connecting local communities with live music, online or in-person when permitted. To move forward we are launching the “COVID Catch-Up Challenge,” a new membership program.
Since our founding in 2016, we have maintained one membership level, at one fee, with one set of benefits for everyone – performers, volunteers, audiences, businesses, community partners, and fans of live music. As the DMS steps into its next phase of growth, with standing-room-only concerts by the Dunedin Concert Band and new residents choosing this area because of DMS, our Board of Directors decided it is time to introduce a more accommodating membership program that encourages broad community participation and support at a variety of giving levels.
If you are currently a Committed Member, you will always have the option to renew your membership at that level, whether or not you regularly perform or volunteer at DMS events. However, you may wish to select one of our new membership levels with benefits for individuals, couples, families, supporters and investors – all called “Music Champions.”
We continue to welcome our Music Builders (one-time donors) and are introducing a new Music Makers membership to secure sponsors for DMS events, programs, workshops and full seasons.
EVEN MORE EXCITING is our brand new ”Dreamers of Dreams” Maestro’s Circle! There are four levels of VIP membership within the Maestro’s Circle, as presented in our COVID Catch-up Challenge Case Statement, each with increasingly desirable premium benefits for individuals or corporations.
Honestly, I am so very humbled and honored to be leading the DMS during this next stage of growth and encourage you to seriously consider upgrading your membership, or joining the DMS, as part of this special group.
In fact, if you join the Maestro’s Circle online or by submitting this form before the end of July, I will personally send you an additional gift to show how much your support of the DMS means to me and my wife Melissa.
I thank you for all your support and encouragement so far and welcome your participation in or questions about the COVID Catch-up Challenge and our new membership options.
Here’s to a VERY exciting next few years…
Best wishes,
Maestro Stephen P Brown
