Calling All Musicians!
The 2024/25 season begins soon, with rehearsals starting up in August for all of Dunedin Music Society’s ensembles. If you have a desire to learn, to become a stronger performer, and to develop a deeper musical understanding, please consider joining one of our ensembles!
Dunedin Concert Band rehearses on Tuesday evenings at the Dunedin Community Center from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In 2024, rehearsals begin on August 20th. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Martin H. Seggelke, this collection of dedicated woodwind, brass and percussion players regularly challenge themselves to present invigorating performances of several concert programs throughout the year. The Dunedin Concert Band is ideal for strong musicians. We have openings in almost all sections – particularly low reeds (bassoon, low saxophones, bass clarinet), horn, oboe, clarinet, percussion, low brass (trombone, euphonium, tuba), string bass, piano.
To maintain a balanced musical experience for all, DCB Performers are invited to participate by Section Leaders. For more information, submit a Performer Inquiry form and a Section Leader will be in touch soon.
Pinellas Community Band rehearses on Thursday evenings at the First United Methodist Church in Dunedin from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Rehearsals begin on August 29th. Under the direction of Austin Shook, this entry-level community ensemble for adult and student musicians (learners and returners) delivers several concert programs throughout the community, at churches, assisted living facilities and outdoor stages. The PCB is perfect for any musician looking to build up their skills to a proficient level, and to learn from other performers. Pinellas Community Clarinet Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings at the First United Methodist Church in Dunedin, from 6:00 to 7:15 pm. Under the direction of Anastasia Palls, this group is welcoming all enthusiastic clarinet players who are looking for an ensemble that enjoys sharing the beautiful variety of clarinet sounds throughout the community. What it is we do

Our mission is to connect local communities with live music, which is good for the heart and soul. Through our multiple ensembles and programs,
- we offer educational opportunities for amateur to professional performers, and the general public. Each rehearsal, workshop or event allows performers to share live music with others.
- We support mental and emotional health through our programs. We provide volunteers, musicians, families and visitors with opportunities for mutual support with live music performances.
The DMS takes pride in its inclusivity and diversity.
